The ONE thing I NEVER travel without 👇️

Raise your hand if your phone battery is always DYING at the WORST times when traveling! 🙋‍♀️ Mine is literally down to 20% constantly, especially as a solo traveler running all my necessary apps (Google maps, translate, currency converter, camera .. the list goes on). I started traveling with the @snapwireless Universal PowerPack this year for my world trip and it has seriously saved me (and my phone haha) soo many times.

It can charge my phone 2-3 times, which is better than any power pack I've tried before, and my favorite part is that it comes with the cords you need so if you lose track of your charging cord (whoops, me) or forget to put it in your day pack you're still good to go!

And I'm happy to share you can use code "ROAMFREEREBECCA" to get 10% off! Comment "powerpack" below and I'll send you the link to the exact powerpack I use! Do you travel with a power pack?? 🪫

How to see this wonder 👇 📍Uyuni Salr Flats, How to see this wonder 👇

📍Uyuni Salr Flats, Bolivia
🗓️ visit: Dec-Apr in wet season to get the mirror effect (!)
🚌 transport: an overnight bus from La Paz
🙋‍♂️ tour: 1 or 3 days
💰cost: $21 entry fee (+ tour cost)

More tips:
✨ even in wet season, sometimes the mirror effect doesn't happen so be patient! Try for a multi day tour just in case or stay flexible

✨ bring cash, and expect to not have cell service

✨ MUST get a visa for Bolivia if you're a US citizen (see my previous post for tips)

✨ spend a few days in La Paz or another area with high elevation to acclimate to the elevation before your tour (and/or take altitude 💊s)

Is this place on your bucket list yet?! What other questions do you have about Bolivia?

VISA requirements for Bolivia 👇️ I'm R VISA requirements for Bolivia 👇️

I'm Rebecca & I'm currently solo traveling the world for a year! I just wrapped up a week+ in Bolivia and as an American citizen I was required to get a visa - so I'm sharing all the info to make it easier for you to see amazing views like this!

🛂 Visa option 1: apply and get your visa at a US embassy before your trip (such as in DC).

🛂 Visa option 2: visa entry on arrival - bring all the required documents and apply for the visa right when you get off your flight.

Required documents:
✅ US passport with 6+ months before expiry

✅ $160 in CASH. And not just any cash, but PERFECT unripped, unmarked, undamaged $20 bills - which for me was the hardest part of this process! TIP: bring EXTRA just in case (I had a few bills rejected!)

✅ PRINTED copy of your itinerary in English AND a printed copy of your itinerary in Spanish

✅ Printed proof of your hotel stay (at least the first stay / first few days)

✅ Printed photo copy of passport (and sometimes extra passport photos)

✅ Fill out a visa application online AND bring (you guessed it) a printed copy of the application (but WAIT to sign it until you arrive and are in front of the visa desk)

✅ C- V@cc card AND yell0w 5ever card (the C card MIGHT not be required later, but still is required now, and as for the yell0w 5ever, this is only needed if you're coming from a country with a YF transmission so for me doing multiple central & south American countries first it was the right choice for me)

✅ SOMETIMES required: proof of departing flight from Bolivia

Whew that is a lot! But for most countries the US Passport is a "golden passport" meaning we have an extreme passport privilege that we don't often need to go through a visa application. So having this hassle every once in a while isn't too bad in the grand scheme of things!

Have you needed a visa for a country you traveled to?
